Thankful for 2021

In July of this year, we experienced the hottest month on record, a glimpse of the future with global climate disruption (https://www.noaa.gov/news/its-official-july-2021-was-earths-hottest-month-on-record). The ongoing pandemic and the struggle of many small businesses to get enough employees to keep going has made 2021 a difficult year. However, we have much to be thankful for and tomorrow is Thanksgiving, so we want to take time to count the many blessings of the past year.

We start with our clients and our team. We must have both in order to fulfill our mission to reduce energy consumption. Reducing energy consumption is a way we can collectively make a difference and help mitigate climate change. We are thankful to be back in the office where we can collaborate on this mission in person.

We are fortunate to be located in the greater Columbus metropolitan area which historically has weathered the economical ups and downs fairly well and is currently in a growth mode. Many corporations, nonprofit organizations, and small businesses recognize the need for increasing energy efficiency and sustainability (thank you!).

On a different note, this year, we are thankful for the local restaurants that we have been able to order food from – thankful that the local farmers and restaurant owners have enough produce and food supplies to keep our bellies full. We are thankful we have income to buy that food, thankful for the planning we are able to do while eating that delicious food, and thankful for the time we share together as we eat meals in Clintonville.

2021 has had its challenges but there is still much to be thankful for.
