We joined the Columbus GreenSpot program as a way to continue to promote energy conservation and energy efficiency. We also want to walk the talk. Energility is focused on building excellent energy plans, and some of the building blocks are in place at our offices as well.
In the last year, we have:
- Moved 50% of our office space to be in the perimeter of the floor and as a result use daylight 15% more often.
- Identified water leaks in our building and made prompt notifications to the landlord resulting in gallons/dollars of wasted water.
Ok, so maybe it was not that bad… you get the point – small leaks become big waste or big drains on the budget. - Used public transportation, carpooling, or walking to local events and as a result saved over 1,000 miles of single occupancy vehicle travel.
- Used reusable drinking cups and mugs and as a result eliminated the need for disposable supplies.
